At Laker, we have an array of Rails to cater to your unique requirements, from Fence Rails, Arris Rails, Shaped Rails and Capping rails. Arris rails are manufactured by cutting a square section of wood diagonally to form it’s triangular shape. Shaped end arris rails are shaped at each end so they can fit into timber or concrete morticed fence posts. These are also sometimes known as scarfed arris rails. A counter rail is mortised into the timber fence posts to provide stability and extra support for the capping rail. A capping rail is usually pressure treated and sits on top of the fence to protect the fence from retaining water to help it last longer. It also helps to finish off the look of the fence. What are fence rails, and why are they essential for fencing? Fence rails are horizontal components that provide structural support and stability to fences. They play a crucial role in holding the fence panels or boards together, ensuring a sturdy and secure fencing installation. Do I need a Capping Rail for my fence? A Capping Rail is highly recommended, especially for fences exposed to the elements. It protects the fence boards from weathering, moisture, and potential damage, extending the overall life of your fence.
